DIY Beauty: Foundation Fail

February 27, 2010

I think I remember why I don’t wear foundation.  Sensitive, acne-prone skin failure.   I am really glad my foundation search started out 7 months early, because recovery time is nigh.   A couple weeks ago with MoH in tow, I got myself some samples of MAC and Make Up For Ever for a test drive.

The Wedding Band Controversy

February 25, 2010

In all likelihood, I will not be getting a wedding band for the ceremony.  The reasons for this are twofold.   First, I am not a fan of the idea of wearing two rings on one finger.  Before I knew it was custom, it sounded tacky.   After I found out it’s custom, it sounds plain uncomfortable.  I know there are services where you can solder your rings together so they are one, but that sounds even worse.  There is no way I want to mess up my gorgeous engagement ring by melding it with another.  Not happening.

Venue: Dallas Museum of Art

February 19, 2010

This is almost the perfect venue.  I can’t tell you what a pain it is to find one place that is suitable for both the ceremony and reception.   H2B would like to have a religious ceremony but we are not affiliated with any churches in the area.   I’ve looked in to some and they either require you to be a member and/or get marriage counseling for X number of months, be of their religion, plus huge money.   Well I’m not comfortable with any of those things.   Nor am I comfortable with a complete stranger marrying us.   I much prefer to ask the judge I clerked for a couple of years ago (we still maintain a good relationship) to do the honor.
