For Cindy

March 26, 2010

Two friends I’ve known for 7 years are getting married (to each other) this Saturday at the Dallas Arboretum!  I am really excited to see them on their special day, and to go to my first wedding.  No longer the lame duck wedding virgin am I!  This is a big step in wedding planning.  I haven’t been updating recently because not only 1) I got a job and I sleep like an old lady now, but 2) I haven’t been able to make a decision on venue… mostly because I am cutting my original budget.  I will post about that later.  It doesn’t help that H2B is far away and unable to go see places with me.  And there’s 3) I’ve been generally uninspired.  Perhaps because real life is catching up.

As my MoH has put it to me many times, lack of a venue/date is holding up her creativity and planning ;).  Yeah yeah, me too.

Anyway, so the beautiful bride commissioned me to make a painting of her parents as a gift to them for helping out with the wedding.  I was happy to oblige, and here it is in watercolor.  This is at their grandparents house in Taiwan with the Dallas skyline below.

She’s presenting it to them at her rehearsal dinner tonight.  I hope they like it!

    Jane,

Thank you so much for the painting. My parents loved it. My mom wouldn’t let me go and covered me in kisses. She said the photograph was a great memory for her, and your interpretation of it made it eve more special. I really wanted to give her something special and because of you I was able to do that. Thank you so much again.
